Thankful, Grateful, Blessed!

I would like to dedicate this week’s blog to our delightful Year 6 pupils…and to my brilliant staff who have work tirelessly to prepare our pupils for the next stage of their learning journey.

Dear Year 6 Pupils,

Next week you will sit your SATs tests for maths, reading, spelling, grammar and punctuation. We know how hard you have worked, but there is something very important you must know:

The SATs test does not assess all what makes each of you special and unique. They do not take into account the two or three languages that you speak or that you are budding artists, inquisitive explorers, sports people, creative children and wonderful pupils. They do not assess your natural talent for dancing (you really do have some super cool moves!), playing a musical instrument or that you are extremely talented members of our choir and our school band. They do not measure how proud we are of you because you have worked so hard to become a team led by our values.

As I sit back and think of your many achievements this year the first thing that comes to mind is the sound of your laughter and the beaming smiles you all wear to school. Your quirky sense of humour fills my heart with joy. Your love of learning and your dedication to our school fills me with pride. The fact that you have become respectful, mature members of a Year 6 team with strong friendships that will last even after you leave us makes me extremely happy. You are all confident individuals with unique talents. Every single one of you has touched our lives in many ways. We have become a better school because of YOU.

Just remember that you rock!

I’ve written a letter to your parents to ensure that you are ready for your tests next week. We all just wanted you to know how proud we are of you and how truly blessed we are to have you in our school.

Warmest regards

Mrs Jamil

PS: Don’t forget to have fun this weekend. It is time to celebrate your learning now. Enjoy yourselves. Come back on Monday rested and full of energy!

PPS. Thank you to a truly magnificent staff for all your efforts, thoughtfulness and hard work. #TogetherWeAreAGreatTeam
